‘Fav’icon’ is short for ‘Favorites Icon.’ The Favicon was first popularized by Internet Explorer through its appearance in the Address Bar and Favorites Folder. and is now a prominent fixture of all web browsers. It gives professional look to blog or site.
You may have noticed that some blogs and websites have a little icon that appear next to the web address at browser address bar. Below is my favicon in safari browser.
The small icon is an .ICO icon format. Now some browsers support .GIF and .PNG formats also, but .ICO format is the most preferred format.
+/- Where to Get or Generate Your Favorite Icon
+/- How to use Generated Favorite Icon (.ico)
<link href=’ link to Your favorite icon (where you have hosted .ico)‘ rel=’shortcut icon’/>
or
<link href=’ link to Your favorite icon (where you have hosted .ico)‘ rel=’shortcut icon’ type=’image/x-icon’/>
Note : If its not working, just place above code randomly in different places between <head> and </head> tag.
In my template i have placed second one exactly above <b:skin><
